The octopus arrived in a dream, and stayed as an identity. A symbol that unfolded its own clues, transcending the idea of the totem to become the most honest territory of the practice: self-knowledge through a single form that has been liberating many others.
The work arises from epiphanies written in the journal: sentences that arrive in lucid dreams, images that appear while painting, questions that don't close. The grounds are fluid, wet, cyan and magenta; over them the octopus forms build themselves with loose lines. Like the animal itself — boneless, shell-less, producing its own ink — each piece finds its form from within.
It is a journey of self-acceptance and commitment to creation that has been opening toward the immeasurable; the certainty that each concrete form, each work, each epiphany, each limit... is a threshold.
